Macdonnell Road Fire

22 August 2006 1325. Three crews responded to a pager call to a bush fire at Macdonnell Road Eagle Heights. The fire started as a permitted burn but was unfortunately left unattended. One crew attacked the front from behind as it spread uphill towards houses. The other crews attacked the flanks and provided structural protection. An on-site dam provided timely refills for the appliances. The fire was controlled by 1510 and all crews stood down at 1600.
