On Saturday 18th February the games team from Tamborine Mtn Rurals scooted down to Kooralbyn for a skills and drills day with the Kooralbyn Auxiliaries. Once again an early rise by all as some boarded 696B (Pete and Dan’s mobile Office), better known as the Games Truck and another crew of 3 aboard TM51. The main focus of the day was the Case 4-ing and Ladder Runs (and calls) as well as a brief play with the hydrant and standpipe. By about lunch time it got nice warm and sticky outside so we all took the opportunity to have a barbie and cool off with a few drinks – thanks Chef. There on the day were, a crew of 2 from Mudgeeraba Rurals, a crew of 4-odd from Logan Village Rurals, Pete and Dan (whom we all know by now) TM Auxiliaries, a crew of 4 from Beaudesert Aux, a crew of 5-odd from Kooralbyn Aux and a crew of 4 from us, the Tamborine Mountain Rurals. It seems like you get fed better on these training days than you do actually out on the fireground when on the job, a good incentive to keep training! Before I wrap this up a huge thanks must go to all who make these days possible by opening their stations for us all and giving their time to make the day a great heap of fun. Just remember these training days are for us, the competitors so “use ’em or lose ’em”. Good luck to all and hopefully see you all at the games. Stand Down: 1530hrs (roughly)
