Our Station is a state of the art joint facility we share with the Tamborine Mountain Auxiliary Brigade. Built in 2012, the site houses two sheds, one each for the “Rurals” and “Auxiliaries” to hold appliances, equipment, storage and turnout rooms. There is a shared meeting room, amenities, offices and bulk water storage. The facility also has a diesel generator to ensure we can function during severe weather events or times when the power is cut off. The site shares a boundary and access with the Tamborine Mountain Ambulance Station and an emergency helicopter landing pad making it quite a hive on busy days.
Electricity is monitored closely with energy efficient LED lighting connected to motion sensors and a Solar Panel array. The shared meeting room can be used for training, presentations, multimedia display and can quickly be transformed into a command center during large events. We have a weather station which can be accessed by the public via this website and also members can SMS the station remotely for updates. A vital communications tower exists also on the site to link communications from the Gold Coast to the Scenic Rim.
